Abstract: The emergence of multi-drug resistant bacteria across the globe led the search for new and novel potential compounds from plant sources. In the present study phytochemical constituents from different extracts (Aqueous, methanol and petroleum ether) of Madhuca longifolia leaves were explored. The Preliminary qualitative analysis revealed the presence of alkaloids, flavonoids, steroids, tannins, glycosides, carbohydrates and proteins in all the extracts. Further, the GCMS analysis of petroleum ether extract of Madhuca longifolia leaves revealed the presence of different bioactive phytoconstituents peaks and implied the presence of two compounds: tritetracontane and nonacosane suggests their antimicrobial potential and its therapeutic action indicates that this plant could be used as a medicinal plant for various treatments.
