The objective of the present paper deals the synthesis and characterization of Pure and Barium doped lead sulphide (PbS) nanoparticles using facile chemical precipitation method with the concentrations of 1wt.%, 3 wt.% and 5wt.% respectively. The prepared barium doped lead sulphide Nanoparticles were characterized by powder X- Ray Diffractometer, Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) and Energy Dispersive Analysis of X-rays (EDAX) in order to know the suitability of the prepared materials for various optical applications. The powder XRD results revealed the formation of orthorhombic phase for all the samples which is in agreement with the reference JCPDS data. The observation from microscopic analysis showed the aggregation with the morphology of spherical shape with the dimension around 45 nm. The EDAX spectra confirmed the functional groups present in the prepared samples with desire ratio. The prepared materials will be applied for optical applications with the analysis of photo luminescence characterization.
