A newly developed method for synthesized and characterized nanocotton extracted from linter (short fibers during the spinning processes from the Egyptian cotton long fibers) was investigated. Acid hydrolysis followed by mechanical pulverized and finally 20 KHz high power ultrasonic was used in synthesized of the nanocotton. Characterization of the prepared sample was confirmed, using particle size distribution, X-Ray diffraction (XRD) and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). The particle size distribution results of the sample showed that the average diameter was 70.54, and width, 11.61nm. SEM study showed that the diameter of the sample was about 25 nm to 65 nm. X-ray analysis shows obviously that the crystallinity of the cotton decreases with their particle size.
